If you don't yet have any children, you can only imagine the joy of bringing one into the world. During your pregnancy, you do whatever it takes to remain healthy. This includes everything from eating right to following the advice of your medical team. Unfortunately, there's a possibility that something could go wrong during labor or delivery that results in a [birth injury](https://bartdurham.com/personal-injury/medical-malpractice/birth-injuries/). In addition to getting the best treatment for your child, there's an important question to answer: [Who is responsible for the injury?](https://bartdurham.com/personal-injury/medical-malpractice/) There is no simple answer to this question, as every situation is unique. For example, a birth injury claim can include the delivery doctor, hospital, nurses, pharmaceutical company, and anesthesiologists among others. It's easy to turn your immediate attention to the doctor, assuming that he or she is responsible for causing harm to your child. While this may be true, you need to consider everyone else who was involved, as you never know what you'll find. For example, it's possible that a prescription medication could cause a birth injury, which means you'll need to consider if the manufacturer was negligent.
