Third suit filed in connection with Tennessee truck accident

If you live in Tennessee or have traveled through the state on I-75, you may have heard of the massive accident that occurred back in June. The circumstances were that construction work caused traffic to come to a complete stop on the road, but a truck driver, who had allegedly been driving for more than 50 hours, did not stop in time and slammed into the traffic jam. The truck, which weighed more than 25,000 pounds, plowed through multiple vehicles, injuring a dozen people and killing half-a-dozen more.

Multiple lawsuits have been filed in connection with the truck accident against the driver and the trucking company that employed him, including one Mississippi couple who have recently filed a lawsuit seeking $1.5 million in damages. According to the lawsuit, this family was in the vehicle that was first rear-ended by the massive tractor trailer.

The lawsuit claims that the family has suffered enormous pain and suffering and that the accident has caused life-altering injuries for them. Because of this accident, their lives will never be the same again. $1.5 million may seem like a great deal of money, but when you consider the extent of the injuries involved in the accident, and that they may feel the effects of this accident for the rest of their lives, any amount of money seems trivial.

This truck accident serves as a reminder to the incredible amount of damage that a truck accident can do. When you have multiple tons of metal moving at a fast pace and crashing into other cars, it is always a miracle when victims survive. If you have been injured in a truck accident, please do not hesitate to contact an attorney to help you recover the compensation you deserve for your injuries.
