Two men injured in accident caused by a drunk driver

Drivers in Nashville must be constantly vigilant to avoid an auto accident. If an accident is caused by a drunk driver, it can be especially frustrating to those who were injured because it didn't have to happen. A person who is hurt in an alcohol related accident needs to understand the long-term issues they may face. There could be severe injuries and massive medical expenses. Lives can be changed forever due to an accident caused by a drunk driver.

A two-vehicle crash sent a 42-year-old man and his 27-year-old passenger to the hospital. The accident occurred as a 2002 Ford Escape driven by a 35-year-old man was heading south and attempted to make a turn. A 1973 Volkswagen Beetle, driven by the 42-year-old man, was traveling north and crashed into the Escape. The Escape didn't yield as it was supposed to. When law enforcement investigated the crash, they found that the driver of the Escape was drunk. It is the man's fourth arrest for DUI. He was also charged with vehicular assault.

People who are injured in an auto accident as a result of another person operating his or her vehicle under the influence will have a great deal to consider in the accident's aftermath. They might be confronted with a long hospital stay, the need for rehabilitation and the inability to return to work in a timely fashion. They might not even be able to return to work at all. The medical expenses can be enormous. In many instances, the only way to recover compensation for the accident is through litigation. It is imperative that the circumstances surrounding the case be investigated as soon as possible with the accident reports and other key information providing evidence.

Tennesseans who find themselves in a similar situation may benefit from discussing their case with an experienced personal injury attorney.
