## Can prescription drugs be dangerous?
When you are prescribed a drug by a medical professional, you assume that it will make you feel better. You assume that the drug will improve your health, not the other way around.
Unfortunately, it is possible that a dangerous drug could make its way to market. When this happens, a large number of people can be negatively impacted. In addition to serious illness, there are times when a dangerous drug can lead to death.
Every now and again, you'll hear a story about a prescription drug being pulled from the market. This happens for one primary reason: the risks outweigh the benefits. For example, it may be found that there is a serious side effect of taking the drug.
An example of a dangerous drug is Accutane, which is prescribed to treat cystic acne. Despite the fact that there are many benefits of the drug, including the fact that it has been proven effective, it can cause birth defects if used by a pregnant woman. Furthermore, some lawsuits claim that Accutane is associated with depression.
If you're prescribed a drug for a particular condition, do your best to learn more about its side effects. If you come across something you don't like, you can always speak with your medical professional about an alternative.
In the event that you become [ill as the result of a prescription drug](https://news.bartdurham.com/Personal-Injury/Product-Liability/index.html), don't wait to cut it out of your life. From there, seek immediate medical attention to address any ongoing concerns. And along with this, take the time to learn more about your legal rights in Nashville.
