Multi-vehicle car accidents can be traumatic for the many victims involved. In many of these crashes, at least some of the victims suffer injuries. Sometimes, these injuries are severe, even fatal. For victims and the families of victims who have suffered in these car accidents, it is important to know what rights they have. In some cases, victims and their families may be entitled to take legal action and pursue compensation from a negligent driver.
A recent three-car crash in Tennessee had devastating and tragic results. According to reports, a teenager tragically died and six others were injured in the catastrophic wreck. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said that a Ford sedan was travelling north when the accident occurred. The vehicle abruptly crossed over a grass median and struck a Kia Sorento in a head-on collision. The collision propelled the Sorento into another vehicle, a jeep.
A passenger in the Ford sedan was tragically killed and the driver suffered injuries. The driver in the Kia, a 54-year-old man, also suffered injuries, as did two of his passengers. A 70-year-old woman who was driving in the Jeep also sustained injuries, as did her husband who was riding in the passenger seat. The woman recalls looking over at her husband and being under the impression that he was dead. Thankfully, both victims were treated at a nearby hospital and survived the crash.
People who have survived car accidents are often forced to shoulder a number of burdens. Not only can accident injuries leave victims with burdens that are both psychological and physical, they can also result in hefty medical bills. Thankfully, some victims may be entitled to compensation, which can help to alleviate some of the financial strain.
