The Most Common Negative Side Effects From Medications

Whenever you start a new medication, you want to know that it is safe.

You want to know what the side effects look like. You want to know how it is going to impact your life.

Examining a list of medications and potential side effects can absolutely help, showing you the most likely outcome. What you'll find is that many drugs tend to have nausea as the most common downside.

This is true for medications like Atenolol, Sertraline, Amlodipine, Lorazepam, Diclofenac and many more.

However, some medications can have far more serious consequences. For example, did you know that the most often-reported adverse reaction to Conjugated Estrogens is breast cancer? One study found over 10,000 such reports. Nausea was the fifth-most common side effect, but it had only around 2,500 reports.

Another example is Rivaroxaban. There were more than 3,000 reports of a gastrointestinal hemorrhage. That was the most common issue. Second, with more than 2,000 reports, was a pulmonary embolism.

For slightly less dire issues but still serious concerns, you may also want to take a look at Alendronate. With 10,000 reports, femur fractures were the most common issue. Around 5,000 falls were also reported. Thousands of people also suffered from anxiety, depression and/or hypertension as a result of that drug.

As you can see, it is very important to take all side effects seriously. You can never be sure of exactly how a drug is going to impact your life, but you need to know the risks. When the drug is defective, dangerous or mislabeled, it is time to look into all of your legal rights.
