Getting behind the wheel is one of the most dangerous things you can do during the course of your day.

Add the fact that vehicles and their parts have been known to fail from time to time and you are could be dealing with a very scary situation. Today, we will look at common auto defects and their warning signs.

Steering

Steering problems can cause particularly serious accidents when not taken care of immediately. If you lose your steering, you will have a lot of trouble maneuvering your vehicle safely. Some signs of steering problems include vibration, trouble turning the wheel, looseness in the wheel, the vehicle pulling to one side and grinding noise when the wheel is turned.

Car Brakes

Brake issues can prevent your vehicle from coming to a stop. The most common signs of brake problems include the brake light being activated, squeaking or squealing when the brakes are applied, wobbling when braking, fluid leaking, soft brake pedal, the smell of something burning when driving and bouncing when stopping short.

Electrical System

The electrical system of your car is also very important. If it begins to fail, you may notice a number of signs. You may have a lot of trouble trying to crank the engine. The headlights or brake lights may be dim. There may be corrosion on the battery terminals. You may notice the odor of melting plastic as well as missing fuses.

Auto defects can lead to serious issues, including tragic accidents if they are not handled in a timely manner. If you notice any of the signs of problems discussed here, you should have your car repaired as soon as possible.
