Are you aware of the fact that you have legal rights in the event that your vehicle is recalled? Many people don't think twice about this.

While some car owners are serious about recalls, others don't care one way or the other. Furthermore, there are those who never find out about the recall. Generally speaking, car manufacturers can opt from three recall remedies in the event that a defect is detected:

-- Repair. This is the most common, and involves all repairs being completed free of charge. This is typically associated with minor defects that can be easily repaired in a timely manner.

-- Replace. Under this remedy, the manufacturer agrees to replace your vehicle or the defective equipment, free of charge.

-- Refund. While not the most common, there are times when the manufacturer opts for this. In this scenario, owners receive a refund of the purchase price of their vehicle, minus depreciation.

There are laws in place that require car manufacturers to provide consumers with a free remedy within a reasonable period of time. Unfortunately, vehicle owners are not always happy with the end result.

Were you or a loved one injured in an accident caused by a defective vehicle? This doesn't happen often, but with so many cars on the road, it's something of which to be aware.

If you're in this position, you need to think about your health above all else. Along with this, when the time comes, you can learn more about the defective part that caused your accident. This could lead you towards a legal claim in an attempt to receive compensation for injuries and damages.
