It's almost never easy when a family member passes away. However, if someone has died because of the negligence or improper care of someone else, it can be the source of additional pain and anguish, especially if that person's death may have otherwise been prevented. Every person in Nashville, no matter his or her situation, should have the right to proper medical care.
Correct Care Solutions, which is based in Nashville is being sued by the daughter of a woman who died in prison after she allegedly was not given the proper medical care she needed. In the wrongful death lawsuit the deceased woman's daughter is asking for $10,000 to help cover medical and funeral expenses. She is also seeking an unreported amount for general damages.
According to reports, the woman who died had written family members while she was incarcerated claiming that prison authorities were not giving her medication. She reportedly suffered from several health issues, including a previous heart surgery. After the woman died a grand jury concluded that there were no signs of any criminal wrongdoing by prison officials in association with the woman’s death.
If the suit goes to trial and the daughter of the woman wins, a jury could award her just compensation for her mother’s death, and the subsequent pain and anguish she has suffered. If someone is the victim of a wrongful death because of someone else’s negligence, it may be a good idea for his or her family members to speak with an attorney.
